Service & Mission
Prairie members believe that part of Christian living is
compassionate service to others. As part of the Interfaith Hospitality
Network, the church houses homeless families on a rotating basis with
other area churches. Each year it heads up a Christmas shop for around
165 families in need through the Bethel Neighborhood Center. Other church
members work together to provide meals for homeless men at Shalom House,
visit and worship with women residents at Topeka Correctional Facility,
respond to area disasters with relief efforts, serve foster children,
and work for greater justice through Metro Organization for Racial and
Economic Equity (MORE2). In addition,
Prairie generously supports international, national, and regional ministries.
There are also mission trips of various kinds, both domestic and international.
