An invitation from Tracy Icenogle:

The Contemplative Prayer Service is moving to Prime Time!

Yes, for one Sunday only, the Contemplative Prayer Service is moving to Sunday morning, October 25, at 10:15.  Yes, in the sanctuary and everything.

You may have heard about the small but mighty Contemplative Prayer Service that’s been going on for YEARS, under the radar, once a month on Saturday evenings.  And you may have asked yourself, “Self, what is this Contemplative Prayer Service?  Is it legit?  Who actually attends?  What do they do there?  Why do they do it?  Is it true they sacrifice a chicken?”

Well, now is your chance to find out.

This service will consist of:

  • Simple music
  • Scripture
  • Prayer
  • Silence
  • Maybe a poem (but not the icky kind)

There’s no sermon.  You mostly just sit quietly with God with occasional interruptions for music and the other stuff.  And who knows?  If it turns out this kind of thing is just what you’ve been looking for, you can join us for the Saturday evening version.  And bring a chicken.
